Domesticated Guinea Pigs are rodents.  They are sociable animals that like to live in mixed or single sexed groups.  Guinea Pigs do not burrow or build nests however they will use tunnels as nests from other animals to hide in.

Guinea Pigs are well known for the sounds they make.  They can make a variety of sounds depending on the behaviour this includes purring when they are enjoying themselves and chattering their teeth as a warning sound to other Guinea Pigs.
