The Ocelot is found in a variety of habitats, from tropical
rainforest, to dry scrubland, but is always found where there are
trees. Found throughout Central and South America ocelots are
generally nocturnal but will sometimes hunt at dawn and dusk.
Most hunting is carried out on the ground but Ocelots are
also good climbers and swimmers.
CREATURE FEATURE: CARLOS AND LOLA
Arguably the most striking animal in the park, Carlos our male
Ocelot certainly leaves a lasting impression on all that see him.
The trouble with Carlos is that he is such a grump! If you
are lucky enough to see him first thing you are likely to be
greeted with growls and hisses, he is definitely not one for early
mornings! However, since being joined by Lola, Carlos has a
real spring in his step and the pair can often be seen snuggling up
to each other in their house.
