Originally the Parma Wallaby inhabited a large area of bush and
tropical rainforest in the Eastern part of New South Wales. Its
range is now restricted to a small area in Eastern NSW and the
small island of Kawau, off New Zealand, where they were imported at
the end of last century. Thought to be extinct for many years
they were re-discovered in 1966 and are now a protected species.
Parma Wallabies are most at home in Rainforest and scrub
grassland habitats.
