Being the Owl that is responsible for the characteristic "twit-twoo" call, Tawny Owls are the most common and widespread Owl in Europe.  They range across Europe, from Britain to Scandinavia, as well as North Africa and North and West Asia. Their preferred habitat is woodland, gardens, parks and urban areas.
