Originating from the dry deciduous forests of Madagascar the Vasa Parrot is considered to be one of the most ancient and primitive of Parrots.  Unlike some species of Parrot, it is the female who is more aggressive than the male.  She is very demanding of her partner, which means he has to feed and mate her upon demand.  If her partner is disinterested she will chase him relentlessly until he gives in, feeds her and flies off.
