FOLLY FARM'S NEW WEBSITE CHAMPIONS LOCAL PEMBROKESHIRE TALENT

Writemedia of Roch, Cat and Mouse Productions of Leweston and Efailwen-based actor Rhodri Evan help Folly Farm stay local with new website

2nd August 2010, Folly Farm, Begelly, Kilgetty, Pembrokeshire: Just in time for the Summer holidays Folly Farm has launched its new website and the project is a real champion for Pembrokeshire talent with a host of local suppliers and some local vocal talent all contributing.  Website Development Company Writemedia, based in Roch, Haverfordwest lovingly hand-reared the new Folly Farm website from conception of the idea to its live launch last week and their immortalisation of Folly Farm founder and director Glyn Williams as the 3D modelled Farmer Glyn provided an opportunity for the popular attraction near Tenby to harness the acting talents of Efailwen-based Welsh actor Rhodri Evan, best known for his performance as Daf in the popular BBC 2 comedy series Scrum 4 and for his WAFTA winning performance as Balders in S4C's Cowbois ac Injians.  Leweston-based Cat and Mouse Productions also played a crucial role in the delivery of the new website with the production of four taster videos of the main attractions at Folly Farm presented by Welsh children's television presenter Alex Winters, best known for his presenting role on the BBC's CBeebies channel and with local schoolchildren from Templeton School.

The new website, developed with the support of the Welsh Assembly Government, also features a Meet the Animals database where visitors can search all the animals on the Folly Zoo alphabetically, by diet and by taxa and learn more about their conservation status and species information, a Folly Funtime section with a host of fun games which capture the fun of Folly Farm, including a vintage funfair styled shoot the ducks game which parents will enjoy as much as the kids and a handy itinerary picker which allows visitors to add their must see attractions, animals and shows for download into a "My Day at Folly Farm" printable list to tick off as you go round Folly Farm.

Welsh actor Rhodri Evan, commented on his most recent acting performance; "I was a little nervous about becoming the voice of Farmer Glyn with him being based on a living person but when I heard that Glyn's own daughter thought I'd captured the kind-hearted, fun-loving, twinkly nature of her dad I was completely reassured.  I can truly say of all the voiceover jobs I've taken on Farmer Glyn is the one my young son will be most proud of as he loves Folly Farm."

Rhodri will soon be donning a motion capture suit as he treads the boards as Farmer Glyn in a story time video for the Folly Farm website.  There will also be a video on the making of Farmer Glyn's Storytime which will detail how the motion capture suit works alongside Writemedia's 3D modelled characters.
