We’re looking for someone with a passion for conservation to join the team and drive forward our ‘Look to the Future’ ambitions

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo is set in the heart of Pembrokeshire, covering 120 acres of fun and four attractions in one: ZOO FARM FAIRGROUND PLAY. As members of BIAZA and EAZA our Zoo is part of multiple breeding programmes and boasts 7 conservation partners, based both locally and internationally.

The role:

Reporting to the Zoo management team, the role will drive our conservation and research work, with key responsibilities including:

  • Monitoring and supporting our designated field conservation projects, and investigating future projects.
  • Overseeing, implementing, and where required, publishing research projects, to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of our conservation education delivery and meet the company objectives.
  • Conservation campaigning and promotion – liaising with our conservation partners and Marketing department to organise fundraising days /public talks and activities aiming to increase the level of awareness, knowledge and understanding of our guests.
  • Promoting and driving forward our environmental policy and objectives.
  • Monitoring the biodiversity policy and procedures.
  • Reviewing and evaluating data to inform future policy.

Who we’re looking for…

As part of our team, you’ll need to have a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, driven to deliver our mission to exceed guests’ expectations, promoting the role we play in conservation and always looking to the future.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications to degree level in conservation, Science Communication or a Zoology related topic
  • Experience of working within field conservation, and able to demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of best practices for this within Zoos
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with our guests, business associates and conservation partners
  • Be IT literate, self-motivated with excellent time management and organisational skills
