Farm assistant

We’re looking for an experienced Farm Assistant to join our team, helping to ensure our animals are well cared for, husbandry and welfare standards are upheld, and guests are engaged and educated.

The successful candidate will need to be reliable, hard-working and have experience with farm livestock.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking all aspects of livestock care including; feeding/dietary regimes, health checks, enrichment and animal record upkeep.
  • Delivering daily guest engagement activities including; meet and greet sessions, goat milking demonstrations and talks to school groups.
  • Driving our land train around our rare breed paddocks, providing a live commentary.
  • Working to strict health and safety protocols and carrying out checks on the Company H&S management system (Mobaro).
  • Promoting cleanliness within the department, ensuring all enclosures and paddocks are kept clean and hygienic.

As part of our team, you’ll need a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and be driven to deliver our mission to exceed expectations. Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in line with the daily timetable is essential in this environment.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification within the field or proven experience.
  • A full driving licence.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to use own initiative to complete tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service awareness.

In addition, the following would also be advantageous:

  • Experience of driving agricultural machinery.
  • Equine experience.

Applicants must be flexible in their working hours and willing to work weekends and bank holidays.
