Farm Supervisor

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on, livestock person to join our Farm team. Reporting to our Farm Managers, you will undertake and assist with all aspects of the daily farm operations, ensuring our animals are well cared for, husbandry and welfare standards are upheld, and guests are engaged and educated. A true team player, you’ll be responsible for supporting and mentoring the team, ensuring standards are maintained and procedures are adhered to. You will be working with a range of domestic and rare breed species, and we are proud to be the only Rare Breed Survival Trust approved Farm Park in Wales. The successful candidate will need to be reliable, hardworking and experienced with farm livestock.

A typical day as a Farm Supervisor will involve:

  • Conducting and supporting with all daily tasks such as cleaning and feeding routines, health checks, enrichment, and animal record upkeep.
  • Supporting the Farm Managers with a range of husbandry tasks as required including animal handling, grooming, foot trimming, and lambing.
  • Ensuring the farm is presentable and ready to open to the public.
  • Taking the lead with guest service, including the delivery of public talks, experiences, educational presentations and acting as a point of contact for our work experience programme.
  • Taking the lead with health and safety; ensuring policies and procedures are always adhered to, checks completed and standards maintained. This includes daily administration and record upkeep through the Company H&S management system.
  • Supervising the team and delivering training in accordance with the Company training strategy.

 Who we’re looking for…

Are you a hands-on, practical person? We’re looking for an experience farm worker with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, who can lead by example and is driven to deliver our mission to ‘Exceed Expectations’. You’ll need to demonstrate practical animal handling skills, and have proven farm experience. Strong communication and excellent time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in line with the daily timetable is also essential in this role.

As part of our supervisory family, you’ll need to be dedicated, organised and willing to learn. Supervisory and/or team leading experience is desirable but not essential. Please note this is an operational and physically demanding role.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification within the field and/or proven livestock and farm experience.
  • A full, clean driving licence with experience of driving agricultural machinery such as tractors advantageous
  • Ability to use own initiative to complete tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service awareness
  • Equine experience advantageous
