Our team of Folly Farmers bring the park to life and make us special.
We believe in looking after our team, nurturing them, and helping each and every member grow. So, from the moment a new employee joins our flock we're committed to their ongoing training and development.
This commitment has been recognised in recent weeks following our Investors in People (IIP) assessment. Investors in People is the International Standard for People Management and sets out levels of good practice for the training and development of people to achieve business goals. Its aim is to help employers achieve business goals and work together to sustain a happy, motivated team.
Kate Beynon, our head of HR, said:
"We're proud to have now held the standard for 13 years. And look forward to further developing our team and business to ensure we're competing with the best in the industry. "
The accreditation was gained following a two day assessment that saw an assessor chat to a number of Folly Farmers regarding their work, duties, opinions and experiences to find out exactly what it’s like to work at Folly Farm. These team members were selected at random to represent each department, taking in a wide range of criteria including length of service, job role as well as part time or full time status. The conversations were strictly confidential however feedback and recommendations have been given to our management team in line with the themes discussed to ensure our team continues to grow, develop and flourish.
"Having gone through the IIP process it’s clear there's a lot of things we do really well, which is fantastic, but the real value was learning where we could improve and we're looking forward to implementing positive changes within the company to benefit our awesome team of Folly Farmers."
