Ranger day

Monday 31 July 2017

Park rangers play a massive part in helping to protect our natural world.

Their work involves front line action, environmental campaigning and education. World Ranger Day is organised by the International Ranger Federation and is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. So, join us at Kifaru Reserve for some ranger-related fun as we celebrate and support the vital work of park rangers all over the world.

We'll also be launching our Rhino Ranger Trail where visitors can help track poachers that have broken into our rhino reserve!

What's happening on World Ranger Day?

Well we've got our fantastic zoo keeper team on hand all day running events and activities to raise awareness of the work of rangers and raise funds for our conservation partners.

From 2pm, Darren Priddle and Murwi from Extremus Dog Training Ltd. are joining us to showcase the amazing work they do, right here in West Wales, training anti-poaching dogs for reserves in Africa. What a treat!
