Seasonal zoo keeper

We’re looking for a versatile and enthusiastic person, with practical zoo experience to join our zoo team for the 2025 season.

The role:

Ideal for someone looking to start their career in Zoo Keeping, you’ll be working with a wide range of species across designated sections. Please note this is a physically demanding role. Daily duties will include:

• Undertaking the cleaning and feeding regimes for the allocated section(s) working to set operating procedures to deliver the highest levels of animal husbandry.
• Providing exceptional guest service and engagement, delivering fun, educational feeding experiences and talks.
• Maintaining the enclosures to a high standard undertaking general tasks including weeding, planting, re-branching and painting.
• Assisting with our educational programmes including helping to chaperone work experience candidates.
• Working independently, with the ability to use your initiative, and as part of a diverse team.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have practical experience within a similar setting, and/or be studying for or hold qualifications to degree level in Zoology or a related field
• Be hardworking, reliable and a team player
• Hold a full driving licence valid in the UK. Due to the requirements to drive company vehicles on-site, a full UK drivers’ licence is essential.
• Excellent communication and team work skills are essential

Hours	3 days per week (approximately 24 hours per week). Please note due to the nature of the business weekend work will be required, including bank holidays.

Duration	Seasonal contract up to September 2025.
