Farm Attraction Assured Again

We’re delighted to have retained our Animal Attraction Assured Scheme certification again!

Through our membership of the National Farm Attractions Network we are pleased to have passed our certification for the the second year. Being recognised under NFAN’s Animal Assured Attraction Scheme (AAAS) provides an additional level of reassurance for visitors that Folly Farm is focussed on safe guest interaction and animal welfare.

Only a third of farm attractions in the UK are certified under AAAS. It shows commitment to achieving and maintaining a high standard of biosecurity to the public and that we’ve correctly implemented NFAN’s industry code of practice as recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

“We’re delighted to have retained our AAAS certification from KIWI for the second year running. The annual assessment is a fantastic opportunity to sit down with the KIWA Agri Foods Assessor and go through our practices and paperwork and show them any new developments. It’s an opportunity to reflect on our standards and our training and discuss any new practices or products that will help us ensure we continue to provide a safe and fun day out for our visitors whilst also keeping our animals welfare at the heart of what we do.”

Kim BRIckell, FARM MANAGER

Ahead of this year’s assessment, we decided to introduce new health and safety signage around the Jolly Barn and rare breed farm paddocks to streamline the important messages for helping to keep our visitors and animals safe. Over the years, we’ve added more and more signs and we were concerned visitors may become a bit sign blind! So, we’ve designed new pictogram key message signs to hammer home the important things we need visitors to do such as washing their hands, not eating or drinking in these areas and not feeding, or indeed kissing, our animals!

We’ve also added a new hand wash station near our Piggery so there’s warm water and soap to wash your hands after visiting our rare breed paddocks and our piggies…absolutely no excuses folks!

Please help us to help keep you and our animals healthy. Always wash your hands and choose farm attractions that are AAAS certified!
