Your rhino experience

You’ll be welcomed by one of our rhino keepers and given a short talk about our rhinos and conservation on the public viewing gallery. You’ll then be taken behind the scenes in the keeper’s yard to learn about the work of a rhino keeper and you’re bound to see some rhino poo! Inside our rhino’s private quarters you’ll learn about how we train our rhinos and prep some food for them. Then you’ll meet one of our rhinos and have the opportunity to hand feed them, if they want to!

This is also your chance to ask our expert rhino keepers all about the animals in their charge.

Your rhino feeding experience will last at least 20 minutes. It includes a cuddly toy rhino or a mug to take home so you can remember your special day.

"A wonderful experience. My husband and step daughter took part in this for his birthday and both absolutely loved it! The animals are well kept and happy, their welfare is clearly everybody’s number one priority. The keeper, Rachel who looked after them was both friendly and knowledgable."

Stephanie Curtis, 5 out of 5, 24 March 2018

"Absolutely amazing - was so brilliant to touch, feed and stroke the rhinos and it shows you how they're just like any other animal but just very large, special and endangered! I loved feeding them and they licking my hand and sat down for scratches. The keeper with us was also so informative and was engaging and interesting!"

Sophie Butcher, 5 out of 5, 19 February 2018

"My son had an absolutely amazing experience hand feeding the Rhinos at Folly Farm. We traveled from Essex just so he could do this. The keepers were so friendly and full of advice about these wonderful animals, it really is an experience Aaron will not forget."
