What happens on a tapir feeding experience?

You’ll be welcomed by one of our tapir keepers and after a short briefing, you’ll get to meet the tapirs.

Whilst you’re feeding the tapirs their fruit and veg you can ask our knowledgeable tapir keepers all about the animals in their care.

Your tapir feeding experience will last at least 20 minutes and will hopefully include some tapir tickles – they love a good scratch! It includes a souvenir cuddly toy tapir to take home so you can remember this very special experience and makes a fantastic gift for children and adults alike.

By taking part in a tapir feeding encounter, or by adopting an animal, you’re supporting our conservation work.

Need to know

Tapir experiences must be booked well in advance as there’s only one session available per day for a maximum of two people.

This experience takes place at Tapir Territory so it’s in view of the general public.

Our tapir experience is only suitable for those aged 8 or over.
