We have so much to enjoy on a day out with us, whatever day you choose to visit. But as the summer holidays approach – we’re excited to let you know about all of the fun extras we have in store for you all that you simply cannot miss!
Our daily card hunts and themed prize trails are back. Can you spot one of our cards hidden in the park? If you do, then hand them in and receive a special prize. Our themed prize trail can be entered using the QR codes – can you complete them all? Entries will be entered into a free prize draw to be in with a chance of winning some fab prizes.
Remember to check out our photo op area in the barn too to grab that perfect family photo.
Have you got a budding vet in the family or a child who loves animas?
With our Mini Vet sessions located at the Lion Research Centre – members of the Folly Farm team can guide you through the process of health checking an ‘animal’. It will provide an exclusive insight into the care and management of our animals and the important work of our conservation partner, Wildlife Vets International.
Set to take place on most Mondays throughout the summer holidays – this is a bookable event lasting around 30 mins, where little ones can learn how to care for our animals alongside our team. There is an additional cost of £4 per person to take part, with profits donated to Wildlife Vets International. Participants will receive a certificate, pen and sticker as a thank you for taking part.

Plus enjoy all day arts and crafts
Look out for our mischievous *posse of pirates running pop-up pirate play sessions each afternoon at the Pirate Island play area. On rainy days they may ‘jump ship’ to Carousel Woods play area instead – so keep ‘yarrrrr’ eyes peeled and join in the fun!
You may spot some of our other cheeky characters during your day with us too such as ‘Henrietta’ the hen. Make sure you grab a pic with them and tag us in when uploading on either Facebook or Instagram.
*On Mondays throughout the school holidays, our pirates may be busy helping out at our MIni Vet and Mini Beast event days instead. Check out more information on these events above so you don’t miss out!
Make sure you pop by our barn for plenty of meet and greet sessions, where you can get up close to a variety of furry favourites with our Jolly Farmers. Times and animals vary throughout the day so head on down and check out the daily timetable located at the barn entrance before hopping over the underpass to ride our Land Train tractor ride to check out our rare breeds!
Get your sparkle on at our *glitter tattoo station based near the VR ride and bar in the fairground daily from 2.30 – 4pm. From sloths, lions and sheep, to pirates and princesses – choose from a variety of stencils and SHINE like the star you are!
*Tattoos are subject to an additional charge of £5 per person, or you can get two for £8.
On Tuesday 12 August we’ll be celebrating these beautiful big cats over at the Pride of Pembrokeshire enclosure in celebration of World Lion Day. There’ll be keeper talks and feeding demonstrations, crafts and activities as well as a ‘roarsome’ raffle and fun with our Entertainments team.
As well as the above activities – our friend James from Safina Lion Conservation will also be on site and running a fascinating lion talk about their conservation work. Any donations will go directly to our conservation partners helping these amazing animals in the wild. Explore where donations collected at Folly Farm go and how they help lions in the wild. This will be an illustrated talk with time allocated to ask questions and quiz James on his knowledge.
We know the weather so far this summer has been a tad dreary – But don’t let that put you off.
Around HALF of our attractions are based undercover so we have plenty to see and do, whatever the weather throws at us! Our indoor Vintage Fairground, huge Carousel Woods play area, Jolly Barn and Tropical Trails enclosure are all undercover. We even have lots of sheltered sections when viewing the animals such as the Kifaru Reserve viewing gallery, underwater viewing at Penguin Coast and our Piggery in the farm. But we also encourage everyone to dress for the weather and although we’ll keep our fingers crossed for sunshine – you don’t have to let the rain dampen your spirits this summer!
And last but not least – remember we offer a FREE RETURN within seven days. Perfect for when one day isn’t quite long enough to squeeze everything in – or if you simply want double the Folly fun! T’s and C’s apply – but please just ensure you keep hold of your receipt and see a member of staff at the admissions booths BEFORE exiting the park on your first day of visit to redeem this offer. We’ll be unable to admit you for free on your second visit without having a validated ticket so don’t be left disappointed. Full details over on our ‘Vouchers and Offers‘ page.
Have a great summer everyone!
