Folly Interactive

Folly Interactive, an education-based sensory centre, opened in 2011 and won the BIAZA award for Best Zoo Education Project.

This attraction aims to encourage visitors to engage with interactive exhibits and experience "close encounters" with slightly more unusual animals such as Royal Python snakes, large birds and armadillos.

Guinea Pigs, Common Marmoset Monkeys, African Grey Parrots, Tortoises, Tropical Fish, Spiders, Iguanas, Frogs and Shrimps are joined by interactive exhibits such as Whose Poo?, What's that Whiff? and the Jungle Telegraph to provide an educational experience to test the senses. 

New for 2012
Folly Interactive Explorer is a brand new hands-on educational exhibit focussed on endangered species, habitats and conservation.  Children can navigate a series of fun and educational challenges from uncovering fossils to looking at insects and mini-beasts through magnifying glasses, from matching habitats to various animals to tracing endangered species.  On completion of each challenge children will collect stamps for their passport to become a fully-fledged Folly Interactive Explorer. 

The Folly Interactive Sensory Garden also opened in 2012 which delights the eyes, nose and ears with a delightfully scented herb garden, a fantastic fish pond, brightly coloured (and noisy!) aviaries, bells and chimes.
